摘要
The paper presents a systematic analysis of the advantages and caveats of antisolvent and cooling crystallization systems. A comprehensive evaluation study of a combined approach, which simultaneously controls the antisolvent addition rate and the cooling profile is presented. The solubility of the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) lovastatine, in the combined system depends on both the antisolvent concentration and temperature.,Experiments were performed using modern process analytical technology, to obtain the solubility data and an artificial neural network based approach was developed to model the equilibrium concentration of lovastatin in acetone-water mixture. A population balance Model of the combined cooling-antisolvent addition system is developed and the reduced model was used in optimal control strategies with different objective functions.
