Faculty developing or evolving Computer Information Systems (CIS) or Management Information Systems (MIS) curricula face numerous challenges. They must determine the focus of the program, which courses to include, and how required resources will be obtained Knowledge of established curricula models and comparable programs at similar colleges assists during the process. Additionally, a curriculum development plan guides and validates the process. The program development plan includes such steps as forming a steering committee, obtaining input from industry documenting support from administration, and developing a timeline.
