摘要
One of the negative activity consequences of cargo transportation by ships is its ballast water pollution with invasive organisms. Ballast water discharge from ships must satisfy IMO requirements. In this paper the comparison analysis of ballast water treatment equipment technical parameters were presented. The advantages and disadvantages of water treatment methods were analyzed and possible methods selection for dry bulk cargo ships were proposed. The main ballast water treatment technique is filtration, which is combined with additional treatment techniques, such as UV radiation or ozonization. The application of these complex methods for ballast water treatment depends on the type of ships, where the installation of modern treatment system is implemented.
