Oxidative polymerization of aniline using NaClO2 as an oxidant

摘要
Using sodium chlorite (NaClO2) as an oxidant, a fibrillar polyaniline with diameters of 50-60 nm was prepared. It was characterized via Fourier-transform infrared spectra (FTIR), UV/vis absorption spectra, wide-angle X-ray diffraction (WXRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), as well as conductivity. Our synthesis approach was very easy and inexpensive. The process of polymerization took less than 1 h, but its conductivity reached 2.76 S cm(-1) at 25 degrees C. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V.
