Optimization of carbon coating on Na3V2(PO4)3 for improved electrochemical performance as cathode material in sodium-ion battery by using PEG

摘要
Na3V2(PO4)(3) (NVP) is a potential candidate for electrode material for Sodium-ion battery but its low electronic conductivity is the main concern. In this study polyethylene glycol-400 (PEG) is used in different proportions in the preparation of NVP to enhance its electronic conductivity. In the preparation of 2 g batch of NVP when 3 ml, 6 ml and 9 ml PEG is mixed carbon coated NVP@C3, NVP@C6 and NVP@C9 are obtained with increased thickness of carbon on NVP respectively. Structural and morphology analysis depicts that the NVP@C6 shows the best electrochemical performance with better cycle stability when compared with NVP@C3 and NVP@9. Copyright (C) 2022 Elsevier Ltd.
