Multi-hop Wireless Localization Techniques: An empirical study for indoor environment using ultra wideband radio technology

摘要
Numerous researches have been done in various aspects of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) in different applications such as communication, network formulation, localization, power management, etc. Our researches are mainly focusing on wireless localization problem. In this paper, we perform an experiment of indoor multi-hop wireless localization under ultra wide-band communication channel for testing our previously proposed tree-search algorithm [1]. We first obtain measured data under the influent of real-world noise using sensor nodes equipped with ultra wideband (UWB) communication channel. Then we apply localization algorithms. The results show that the algorithm under actual environment performs as good as it is in the simulation. Comparing to a well-known non-linear optimization method such as least square nonlinear optimization, our algorithm yields better residual error at relatively higher complexity.
