The biting midge, Forcipomyia (Metaforcipomyia) fehrerorum Grogan and Sigrist, new species, is described and illustrated from specimens collected in Maryland and Florida and compared with its only Nearctic congener, F. (M.) pluvialis Malloch, which is redescribed and illustrated.
