摘要
Advancement in technology has led to increased exploitation of underground space for a variety of uses. Establishment of any structure underground, instead of on the surface, helps in retaining more open space overground, which is environment friendly. At the same time, any disturbances to the Nature by creation of artificial underground space should be compensated by proper integration with the environment. Guidelines should be formulated to control the growth of underground space, giving due regard to its integration with the environment.
