摘要
The importance of AMID with regard to participation in road traffic is a well understood issue. In this context, several risk factors associated with ADHD can be identified. In this study we examined a group of drivers guilty of several traffic offences (N = 630) and compared it with a population-based sample (N = 1845). Regression analyses were carried out to test the predictive power of the recorded offences regarding ADHD symptoms. The risk of ADHD symptoms was higher than in the normative sample, with "stress intolerance" being the only exception. "Driving without license" proved to be the only predictor for the disorder. Results indicate a significant proportion of adults with ADHD in the sample of traffic offenders. For drivers guilty of the aforementioned offences, further clarification of ADHD symptoms is recommended. Furthermore, tendencies of social desirability were found in our sample, which should be taken into account in the context of driving-related training programs.
