Electron paramagnetic resonance of Mn4+ in PbTiO3:: Low temperature behavior

摘要
The transition metal ion Mn4+ in PbTiO3 single crystals has been studied by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) over the temperature range 3.5 to 300 K. The spectrum results from a moderately large tetragonal crystal field and consists of two observable sextets. Below approximately 250 K superhyperfine structure is resolved on the low field sextet due to the lead ion sublattice. The fine structure splitting is found to be weakly temperature dependent below 300 K exhibiting a broad peak in the region of 200 K.
