摘要
Zr-Ti-Cu-Ni-X (X=B, P, and Si) amorphous alloys with a large supercooled liquid region have been prepared by melt spinning. The effect of additive elements (B, P and Si) on the glass formation ability and thermal stability was examined. The glass transition temperature, crystallization temperature increased with increasing the content of these additive elements, while supercooled liquid region decreased. The Si containing alloys exhibited the largest supercooled liquid region which is comparable to that of the commercial Zr-Ti-Cu-Ni-Be alloy. This is thought to be due to the random atomic packing configuration with an optimum atomic size ratio. On the other hand, the highest thermal stability against a crystallization was observed in the P containing alloys.
