The 2010 ASHRAE Publication Performance Measurement Protocols for Commercial Buildings (PMP)(1) describes what to measure, how it is to be measured, and how often it is to be measured to quantitatively assess the performance of commercial buildings. Representatives of these measures were tested by applying them to the newly renovated ASHRAE Headquarters Building in Atlanta.(2) Since then it was determined through field tests(3,4) and user feedback that more procedures-oriented protocols were needed.
