摘要：

The present report describes a case of accidental intra-arterial propofol injection. The 21-year-old female patient first complained of pain and then demonstrated a short-lasting hypoperfusion and finally hyperaemia and swelling of the hand. All symptoms disappeared spontaneously and no specific therapy was required. In patients in whom infusion is difficult to perform, intra-arterial cannulation should be excluded. Strong pain during propofol administration is the main symptom for intra-arterial injection of this drug.
