A multi-objective transportation problem under fuzziness

摘要
This paper presents a fuzzy programming approach to determine the optimal compromise solution of a multi-objective transportation problem (MOTP). Its fuzzy membership function is defined. The approach performance is tested by measuring the degree of closeness of the compromise solution to the ideal solution using a family of distance functions. In addition, the paper shows that the fuzzy approach outperforms the interactive procedure as the number of objectives and constraints increases. Two illustrative numerical examples are provided to illustrate the approach. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
