摘要
Tooth loss due to periodontal or endodontic problems generally leads to a loss of bone structures that may jeopardize the correct prosthetic positioning of dental implants. While the possibilities of autologous bone block augmentation or guided tissue regeneration allow predictable restoration of the bone bed, they extend the duration of implant treatment by 4 to 9 months. The combination of bone block augmentation utilizing the shell technique and the simultaneous placement of implants can reduce the treatment time considerably and thus improve patient compliance and consent to these procedures.
