Microwave synthesis of CuO/NiO magnetic nanocomposites and its application in photo-degradation of methyl orange

摘要
In this work CuO/NiO nanocomposites were synthesized via a fast microwave method in the short period of time. The prepared products were characterized by X-ray diffraction pattern, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Alternating gradient force magnetometer illustrated ferro-magnetic behaviour of CuO/NiO nanocomposites. The photocatalytic behaviour of CuO/NiO nanocomposites was evaluated using the degradation of methyl orange under ultraviolet light irradiation. The results show that nanocomposites have applicable magnetic and photocatalytic performance.
