J. C. Bradley's narrative of the Cornell Entomological Expedition to South America (1919-1920) Collecting localities and entomological travel details

An important entomological collecting expedition to South America in 1919-20 is here presented in detail, based on the personal notes and observations of the expedition leader. The expedition lasted for more than a year: information is provided on the entomological equipment used, specimens exchanged and other details, as recorded in correspondence from the expedition's leader, J. C. Bradley. Online appendices provide chronological and geographical lists (with geographical coordinates) of the 191 collecting localities visited by Bradley, and biographical accounts of the fellow scientists he encountered, with the aim of providing detail to illuminate the otherwise poorly documented history of South American entomological science and to facilitate interpretation of surviving museum specimens from the expedition.
