摘要：

Purpose - This paper aims to describe the document supply services of the Russian State Library. Design/methodology/approach - The paper is descriptive in nature. Findings - After the hiatus of the 1990s the document supply service has recovered and is developing new electronic services. Resource sharing is also growing. Originality/value - The paper provides a historical and contemporary overview of the development of document supply in Russia and the Soviet Union.
