摘要
In the present scenario, the world economy is developed by modernisation and mechanisation by balancing the use of renewable energy sources rather than non-renewable energy sources. The fossil fuels derived from non-renewable sources are costly and polluting the environment, which has driven to search for better alternative fuels. The present experimentation investigates the influence of blending of Neem seed biodiesel (NSOB) with diesel along with supplementation of compressed natural gas (CNG). Different blends of NSOB added to conventional diesel from 10% to 30% with 10% increment and CNG was inducted through the inlet manifold. The average increment in carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbon (HC) emissions for 10% CNG-enriched diesel is 10.14% and 7.11%, respectively and 30% CNG-enriched diesel at maximum load reduces the oxides of nitrogen (NOx) by 12.5%. The engine was optimised at 30% NSOB-diesel blend and at 10% CNG supplementation. CO, HC and NOx are reduced by 23%, 2% and 4%, respectively and the efficiency is improved 4.9%.
