Direct observation of conformational transitions for polyaniline chains intercalated in clay particles upon secondary doping

摘要：
The secondary doping of the HCSA-doped polyaniline (PANI) by m-cresol within the gallery of clay particles was investigated. A significant increase in the inter-sheet distance of the polymer-intercalated clay particles is observed upon the secondary doping. This is attributed to the conformational transition of the polymer chains from a `compact coil' to an `expanded coil'.
