摘要
The antioxidant activities of the various extracts and fractions from the herbs of Artemisia Selegensis Turcz(AST) were investigated by the vitro and vivo assays. FRAP, DPPH and ABTS assays were used to evaluate the antioxidant activities of the extracts/fractions in vitro. The effect of water extract (WE) in reducing oxidative stress in male mice was evaluated. Phenolic compounds contribute significantly to the antioxidant activity. From results of three vitro antioxidant assays, WE was found to have the highest antioxidant activity, and for the fractions of WE, the water fraction has a significant antioxidant activity. For vivo antioxidant assays, results showed that high dose of WE group, the MDA level was significant decrease (p<0.05) compared to normal diet and D-(+) Galactose group, the SOD activity of mice given high dose of WE group showed highest activity. These studies of vitro and vivo demonstrated that the extracts especially the WE from AST has a significant antioxidant activities and free radical scavenging activities. In summary, we propose that AST could be potentially used as rich sources of natural antioxidants.
