Comparison of two Lindstedt-Poincare-type perturbation methods

摘要
A comparison of two Lindstedt-Pointcaré perturbation methods is presented. The methods are modified perturbation method (method 1) and an classical perturbation method (method 2). The method 2 is valid for large parameters. The methods are used to analyze the non-linear oscillations. The two methods are also used to solve the Duffing equations. It is found that method 2 works for nonlinear systems and it works when the linear part of the restoring force is zero.
