The Treaty of the Sublime, a poet's work between Ovid and Seneca

Based on the striking literary and symbolic affinity between Ovid and the author of On the Sublime, this paper aims to identifiy the "poetic" nature of the treatise through a "Longinian" reading of the Pomona and Vertumnus episode in Ovid's Metamorphoses XIV, followed by a brief Ovidian reading of the Sublime. In conclusion, it extends the analysis to Seneca in order to complete the definition of a common ingenium based on the transformative power of the passions.
