摘要
There is an increasing demand for mobility in our society. Based on these circumstances DaimlerChrysler Services developed the Toll Collect system. This system mostly combines technologies of satellite positioning with mobile communication and the Internet. The concept enables gradual charging per kilometer and reflects the real costs for infrastructure usage via electronic systems. Toll Collect relies basically on an intelligent electronic on-board device with the capability for value added services (On-board Unit). Therefore, Toll Collect offers transport companies a forward looking and expandable technology with an opportunity for the economical usage of telematics systems.
