摘要：

Geant4 is a software toolkit for both full and fast Monte Carlo simulation of detectors in high-energy physics experiments. It has been developed under a worldwide collaboration of about 100 scientists, coming from over 40 institutes and HEP experiment groups in 15 countries. The first production version of Geant4 was released in December 1998. In this report, the present status of the toolkit is summarized. (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
