The effects of second phase particles, dislocation density and grain boundaries on the electrical conductivity of aluminium alloys

摘要
The effect of second phase particles, dislocations and grain boundaries on the electrical resistivity of high purity aluminium and dilute Al-Fe and Al-Mg alloys has been investigated. It has been found that Bruggeman's analysis for the thermal resistivity of two phase mixtures describes very accurately the effects of second phase particles on electrical resistivity. The effects of dislocations and grain size on the electrical resistivity are generally less than the effects of second phase particles, but can make a significant contribution to the total resistance of a dilute alloy conductor.
