摘要
Government of Malaysia aimed 60:40 ratio of student participation in science rather than arts. However, student participation in science has never reached the targeted 60 percent. Among other initiatives made by the government is to provide research grant with knowledge exchange purpose. Through the research grant, almost all universities take effort to create a healthy education ecosystem. One of it is to incorporate university-school project. The Universiti Teknologi MARA has attempted to educate the students about light pollution. By choosing light pollution issue, the students will be exposed directly to some science theories and concepts. For instance, refraction, reflection, scattering, position of celestial object etc. Therefore, the University has taken an advance step together with selected schools to monitor light pollution by exposing to the students to the science theories and concepts through a series of hands-on module. Hopefully, by increasing awareness on light pollution will help the students to understand science theories and concepts deeply.
