Parameter identification in a system with both linear and coulomb damping

摘要
A single degree of freedom system with both viscous and coulomb damping has been described and tested using band limited random excitation. The dynamic data obtained was used as the input to a non-linear parameter identification procedure. Values for the linear modal parameters and the coulomb damping parameter were estimated. These values were then used in a simulation of the system. The simulated response was found to be in good agreement with the measured response, thus validating both the identified model and the analysis technique.
