摘要：
The title compound, N,N'-bis-thiophene-2-yl-methylene-propane-1,3-diamine (1), C13H14N2S2 was synthesized in dry methanol. On crystallization from the methanolic mother liquor, single crystals suitable for X-ray diffraction of 1 were harvested. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system with P-2(1)/c, space group having a = 8.4379(2), b = 16.5735(4), c = 10.6494(3) angstrom, beta = 115.703(2), V = 1341.91(6) angstrom(3) and Z = 4. This compound is a potential bidentate ligand with two nitrogens only as donor centres as evidenced from all the crystal structures hitherto reported on this type of systems.
