Redox Flow Batteries: Want More Electrons? Go Organic!

摘要
Recently in Joule, Kang and co-workers reported a new redox organic molecule, 5,10-dihydro-5, 10-dimethyl phenazine, which offers two-electron transfer as a promising posolyte for high-energy-density redox flow batteries. By coupling the molecule with 9-fluorenone as the negolyte, the authors demonstrated a new redox flow battery with the highest molar energy density so far reported.
