Renewable forms of energy are gaining increasing attention nowadays due to its safety, biodegradability, and sustainability. This study presents the framework for the production of renewable oil from tyre pyrolysis. The key processes as well as the technical requirements that will enhance the optimum conversion of waste tyre to oil during the pyrolysis process also identified. The empirical results from the literature survey indicate that the nature of reactor as well as the process parameters such as temperature significantly influence the conversion rate of waste tyre to oil during the pyrolysis process. The SWOT analysis was employed to identify the strength, weaknesses, potential opportunities and threats which characterise the conversion process of waste tyre to liquid fuel via pyrolysis. The use of the oil produced from tyre boasts social and environmental benefits if properly harnessed.
