Computation and Comparison Power Losses of Three- and Five-Phase Converters (VSI) Based on Datasheet Characteristics

摘要
The paper deals with a computation of power losses and efficiency of three- and five-phase VSI converters and their comparison. The substantial item for computation is using parameters of the switches based on their detailed datasheet characteristics (thermal Foster model, ...). The computations of power losses of VSI converters are provided using both Matlab-Simulink and LT Spice environment for corresponding phase outputs. So, the main contribution consists of the computation of power losses and efficiency of five-phase VSI converter and their comparison to three-phase one. Simulation efficiencies results have shown that there are no significant differences in the efficiency performance between both compared converters.
