摘要
The role of nanotubes in the development of a universal electronics memory is discussed. Nanotubes provide the makings of a memory that combines the speed of static random-access memory, the low cost of dynamic random-access memory (DRAM), and the nonvolatility of flash memory. Nanotubes can serve as individually addressable electromechanical switches arrayed across the surface of a microchip, storing hundreds of gigabits of information. A nanotube memory could be faster and much smaller while consuming less power.
