摘要
Monomorphemic nouns of San Pedro Mixtepec Zapotec are classified in two types: inanimate nouns and animated nouns. These two types of nominals are subcategorized in native and non-native nouns. While the natives inanimate and non-natives inanimate nouns refer to things, natives animate refer to terms of kinship and names of animals. On the other hand, non-native animates nouns refer to proper names and animal's nouns. The corpus used for this research is a database of 35 hours of transcription. made by the author, which were required to identify the nouns in isolated forms and in syntactic construction.
