摘要
Distributed Generator (DG) placement techniques are in abundance now-a-days but selection of the best among the lot is extremely important and crucial. The selected technique should improve the performance of the system to its fullest. Two such prospective techniques namely Active power loss sensitivity factor (APLSF) and Voltage sensitivity index (VSI) are chosen for analysis in this go. On close scrutiny it has been observed that these methods show fruitful results in most of the areas barring few. To enhance their performance, a fault tree analysis (FTA) is constructed to identify the probable reasons of their below par performance. Having identified all the possible causes, probability determining techniques are followed to determine the primary cause. A vivid picture of the viable causes can help to rectify the method and use it as one of the suitable candidate techniques for DG placement fulfilling all the necessary requirements.
