Clitopilus byssisedoides is described as a new species found in a hothouse in Botanischer Garten Jena, in Jena, Germany, of unknown, possibly tropical origin. In this study, it is described, illustrated and distinguished from other pleurotoid Clitopilus species with rhodocyboid spores, particularly from other members of (Rhodocybe) sect. Claudopodes
