摘要
A sensitive x-ray storage phosphor based on fluorine excess BaFBr:Eu2+KF/LiF possessing high storage stability has been synthesized. The electron-hole recombination process giving rise to photostimulated luminescence (PSL) is described. No red shift in the stimulation spectra on alkali co-doping and thus no electron trapping at the Br- vacancies beside the alkali compounds were observed. The enhanced photoluminescence (PL) and PSL efficiencies could very well be explained by the synergistic flux action of the co-dopant(s) and BaBr2 at 850 degrees C which increases the crystallinity and doping efficiency. Sintering temperatures >900 degrees C enhanced the luminescence efficiencies of BaFBr:Eu2+ and BaFBr:Eu2+,KBr due to thermal migration of F-i(-) ions.
