An ion cyclotron resonance study of the mechanism of formation of methane complexes with molybdenum oxide cations in the gas phase

摘要
The reactions of Mo+ and oxygen-containing molybdenum cluster ions MoxOy+ (x = 1-3 and y = 1-9) y with methane, ethylene oxide, cyclopropane, and methanol were studied by ion cyclotron resonance. The formation of several organometallic ions, including MoxOy(CH4)(+) (x = 1-3, y = 2, 5, 8), was observed. The upper and lower bond energy limits were estimated for oxometallocarbene complexes, 111 > D-0(MoxOy+ -CH2) > 82 kcal/mol y (x = 1-3 and y = 2, 5, 8), and for complexes with the methyl radical D-0(MoOy+ -CH3) > 91.6 kcal/mol (y = 2, 3), D-0(Mo2Oy+-CH3) > 91.6 kcal/mol (y = 4-6), D-0(Mo3Oy+-CH3) > 91.6 kcal/mol (y = 8, 9); methane D-0(MoOy+ -CH4) > 89 kcal/mol (y = 2, 3), D-0(Mo2O5+ -CH4) > 89 kcal/mol, D-0(MO3O8+ -CH4) > 89 kcal/mol, and hydrogen atom D-0(MoO3+ -H) > 104 kcal/mol.
