Aimed at the problems of velocity fluctuations and arching of the traditional sintering machine in running, the idea of adopting new type sintering machine (NTSM) with the use of sprocket wheel with even-number teeth (SWENT) and torque-loading device was put forward. Based on an engaging angle function and introducing the solution to conjugate tooth profile of a pair of gears, sprocket wheel with even number teeth and varying teeth space was designed. Mechanical simulations of NTSM were made by ADAMS software. Based on the results of the analysis, the effects of NTSM are fairly remarkable on weakening velocity fluctuations and eliminating arching.
