摘要
A convenient and highly efficient, catalysts-free synthesis of benzimidazoles in an aqueous medium has been developed. The conditions of the synthesis were optimized, and its scope was successfully extended to various substrates with good to excellent yields. The experimental procedure is simple, and the products can be isolated by filtration followed by recrystallization from water.
