摘要
The development of computational tools has aroused interest in the management of modeling programs with application in geotechnics, which use numerical methods such as the finite element method for analysis. The objective of this research is to evaluate the external stability of a simulated retaining wall, through numerical methods based on finite element analysis, using the Plaxis V8.2 software. For this, two types of walls were evaluated (cyclopean and cantilevered, with and without seismic analysis), with two different heights and considering in some cases the cohesion of the fill soil and the passive pressure provided by the soil in front of the wall. The safety factor for sliding, overturning and the total displacement of the wall was determined; in order to establish some recommendations for the proposed wall models, when analyzing external stability.
