摘要
Objective: Determine the perception of body image, health and diet among primary school students and adolescents in a rural community. Materials and methods: The sample was 31 primary school students and 20 adolescents. Due to the type of population, a qualitative approach with dynamic and participative educational strategies was used for data gathering. This included questionnaires that each participant responded to through games and participative activities. Results: Both the primary school students and adolescents had,a correct body image, and were aware that their health and diet is not good. They knew that a proper diet helps in maintaining an appropriate weight and good health. Conclusions: Further research is needed in this area to allow educational intervention focused on preventing disorders such as obesity and malnutrition, and programs need to be applied to improve diet in poor rural populations.
