摘要
We propose a new handoff scheme for high-speed Internet multimedia services. The proposed scheme aims at avoiding the excessive packet delay during handoff process, which may cause the connection dropping. For this purpose, the proposed scheme adopts the priority packet scheduling policy for mobiles in handoff. We evaluate the handoff performance with the proposed scheme, by using the cross-layer simulation that covers from physical layer to Internet application layer. The numerical results show that the proposed scheme improves the performance.
