摘要
Iridium-modified Boron-Doped Diamond (Ir-BDD) was prepared for an application in electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2). Chronoamperometry technique in solution of K2IrCl6 in H2SO4 was employed at a reduction potential of + 0.60 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) to deposit the iridium metal on the surface of Boron Doped-Diamond (BDD). X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and a Raman Spectroscopy methods employed for the characterization indicated that Ir(0) could be deposited on the surface of BDD with an Ir-to-C ratio of 0.06. Cyclic voltammetry of CO2 dissolved in NaCl showed a reduction peak at -0.4 V suggested that CO2 could be electrochemically reduced at this condition.
