摘要
A miniaturized and dual-polarized frequency selective surface (FSS) based on the handshake convoluted stripe is proposed in this letter. The stripes are properly convoluted and handshake chained up by each other. As the proposed element, the stripes and the 90 & x00B0; rotated stripes are etched on the two surfaces of a substrate. By the convoluting and handshake connection, the coupling inside and between the elements are well controlled that the spatial efficiency is maximized to provide a high miniaturization accompany with a dual-polarization response. A five-order equivalent circuit model, which fits the FSS in the frequency range as wide as 0.1 & x2013;12 GHz, is presented to get insight into the working mechanism of the proposed FSS. The performances of the FSS are proved by simulations and measurements. The results show that, for both TE and TM modes, the dimension of the dual-polarized element is as compact as 0.0284 & x00A0;& x03BB; & x00D7; 0.0284 & x00A0;& x03BB;. The frequency deviation is less than 9 & x00A0;MHz in the incident angle of 0 & x00B0;& x2013;60 & x00B0; and polarization angle of 0 & x00B0;& x2013;90 & x00B0;.
