P3P adoption on E-commerce web sites - A survey and analysis

摘要
To maintain user trust, e-commerce vendors have a strong incentive to protect customers' privacy. The authors examine whether this incentive translates into the adoption of the Platform for Privacy Preferences Project (P3P) in the e-commerce industry. They present the results from a Web crawl to illustrate P3P's current state of adoption among different Web sectors, and how it interacts with other privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs).
