摘要
Sometimes described as hypoechoic areas, non-mass findings on breast ultrasound are not defined in the current Breast Imaging-Reporting and Data System (BI-RADS) ultrasound lexicon. However, they must be known because they may indicate malignancy and correlate with mammographic/MRI findings. Once detected, the main difficulty is to characterize these subtle abnormalities. Context, ultrasound-associated features like microcalcifications as wellas shear wave elastography can improve ultrasound specificity. A follow-up rather than biopsycould be proposed under certain conditions. In other cases, Ultrasound-guided vacuum-assistedbiopsy will be the reference sampling method. (C) 2021 Elsevier Masson SAS.
