Activation cross sections on cadmium:: Deuteron induced nuclear reactions up to 40 MeV

摘要
Cross sections of deuteron induced nuclear reactions were measured up to 40 MeV using the standard stacked-foil irradiation method and high-resolution gamma-ray spectroscopy. Experimental cross sections and derived integral yields are reported for the reactions Cd-nat(d,x)In-107g,In-108g,In-108m.109g110g,In-110m,In-111g,In-112m,In-113m.114m,In-115m,In-116m, Cd-nat(d,x)Cd-111m,Cd-115g,Cd-115m,Cd-117g,Cd-117m and Cd-nat(d,x)Ag-105g,Ag-106m,Ag-110m,Ag-111g. No experimental data measured on natural cadmium have been found, in the literature for the isotopes In, Cd-111m,Cd-115m,Cd-117g,Cd-117m and Ag-105g,Ag-106m,Ag-110m,Ag-111g. The experimental data are analyzed with and compared to the results of the theoretical model code ALICE-IPPE. Applications of the cross sections for data validation, medical radioisotope production, thin-layer activation and dose calculation are discussed. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
