RAKE: A Windows program to plot earthquake focal mechanisms and the orientation of principal stresses

RAKE is a program that is used to examine the stress regime in a region, using information from an earthquake database. The program is used to: (a) plot the fault plane solutions of earthquakes, in the conventional beach-ball presentation, and move them to a desired position, (b) calculate the orientation of the principal P and T stress axes, and plot them on a map or a Schmidt stereonet, (c) plot earthquake epicenters on a map, and (d) project fault plane solutions, earthquake epicenters, and stress axes onto vertical planes of any orientation. RAKE is a program for Windows, written in Visual Basic 3, and has all the advantages of programs running under Windows. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
