Precursory Ag-bipyridine 2D coordination polymer: a new and efficient route for the synthesis of Ag nanoparticles

摘要
A solid phase grinding of a unique framework-builder 2,2' bipyridine with AgNO3 has resulted in the efficient formation of a novel 2D coordination polymer of an Ag(I) precursor salt. The structural investigation of the crystalline precursor complex reveals formation of a short Ag-Ag bond. A crystalline precursor salt is transformed to silver nanoparticles (NPs) on thermolysis via the calcination-reconstruction method. The supramolecular preorganization of the precursor salt in the solid-state has a significant role in the formation of Ag NPs. It is an efficient route for the synthesis of Ag NPs in the solid state in bulk without using a reducing agent and stabilizer. The Ag NPs have uniform size ditribution.
